Proditec and Key Technology Announce Global Sales and Distribution Agreement

April 15, 2010 – Key Technology and Proditec announce that they have entered into an agreement for the sale and distribution of products from Key’s Symetix group.  Under the terms of the agreement, Proditec will sell Symetix products for softgel inspection and processing in Europe, Asia, and South America.  At the same time, Proditec and Symetix will work together to promote and sell inspection solutions in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets in North America.

This sales and distribution agreement further strengthens the relationship between Symetix and Proditec, which was preceded by the minority equity investment Key made in Proditec in March 2009.

Proditec Introduces InspeCaps 150 Inspection System for Capsules

InspeCaps 150 is a new single-file vision inspection system for two-piece hard-gelatin capsules

Proditec and Symetix will co-exhibit at Interphex NY 2010 where Proditec is introducing InspeCaps 150, a new single-file vision inspection system for two-piece hard-gelatin capsules, which removes foreign capsules and capsules with cosmetic defects and shape irregularities. As the world’s first inspection system that handles every type of capsule, including opaque, transparent and translucent whether empty or filled with powder, granules or liquid, InspeCaps 150 maximizes production versatility. As the first sorting system to achieve full 360 degree inspection of the capsules, including both ends, print inspection and banding inspection, InspeCaps 150 assures the highest product quality.

Key Technology to Acquire Minority Interest in Proditec

OCTOBER 1st, 2009 -- Proditec SAS announces that Key Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTEC)  has acquired a 15% minority interest in Proditec SAS. 

Christophe Riboulet, President and Chief Executive Officer of Proditec SAS, commented, “We are very proud to welcome a recognized global company like Key Technology as a new shareholder of Proditec. INTERPACK 2008

Thanks to the exclusive partnership with Uhlmann-Visiotec , Proditec attended the INTERPACK exhibition in Düsseldorf from April 24 to 30.

Unique combination of Visual inspection with NIR spectroscopy was demonstrated on an Inspectab100 on the UHLMAN booth.

This demonstration drew a lot of attention from visitors from all over the world.

It was also a unique occasion to meet numerous customers and prospects, showing great interest in automated tablet sorting.

PRODITEC is a leading manufacturer of Automatic Vision Inspection and Sorting System for Pharmaceutical Tablets since 1999. Most of the large pharmaceutical laboratories are customers of Proditec either in Europe, the Americas or Asia. - All capsules: inspection of coloured, opaque, translucent or transparent capsules, size #00 to #5

- Unique 360° inspection: includes complete inspection of printing wherever the print is located on the capsule, and without actual physical rotation of the capsule.

The InspeCaps150 is the first system capable of inspecting transparent and semi-transparent capsules (in addition to the regular opaque capsules). No special program or tooling is necessary.
